Shanghai Building Materials Group Waterproof Materials Co., Ltd. grew out of Shanghai Asphalt Felt Factory which was founded in 1947. Later, the company was merged and Shanghai Waterproof Building Materials Group Corporation was established, and the company held controlling interest of a Chinese-foreign joint venture, Shanghai Kingsharp Building Materials Co., Ltd. In recent years, the company has undergone ongoing consolidation and regrouping, has absorbed all the high quality assets of Shanghai Waterproof Building Materials Group Corporation and has been converted to a state-holding company.
